Frequently Asked Questions

  • With one deck, 2-5 people can play. 

    Multiple decks can be combined to allow for more players. If combining multiple decks, remove all but one Infernal King Card. When playing with multiple decks, a monster cannot cover an additional copy of itself.

  • Yes, so long as the they only attack with cards from their hands with numbers that match cards in play.

  • Players can only attack the active defender. See rules for determining who the next defender is after players have drawn from the deck.

  • Maximum of 6 cards can attack the defender regardless of the Defender holding more than 6 cards. If the Defender has less than 6 cards in hand, the maximum is reduced to be equal to the number of cards in their hand.

  • Yes, so long as the they only attack with cards from their hands with numbers that match cards in play.

  • Only after the new defender has been attacked by the deck or the player and only using cards from their hand that match the number of a card in play.

  • Yes! During the end game, players are freed as soon as they have no cards in had and no cards are in the draw deck; even if the defender is still in the process of countering attacks. If the Infernal King would be placed in the draw deck after you have played your last card, you are still freed and do not remain in the game to draw.

  • For advanced players, it is not recommended to allow counting of the draw deck. However, this is not a firm rule and players should enact “house” rules to decide if they want to allow draw deck counting or not.

  • No, to deflect, the player to your left must have at least the number of cards in hand, equal to the total number of attacking cards.

  • Yes! The Infernal King can be deflected with an another fallen card (#13) of a different monster type.

  • Yes! Before the end game has started, a player may have no cards in hand and may still need to draw. In the very rare circumstance that you have no cards in hand and need to draw the infernal king as the only remaining card to start the end game, the Infernal King will automatically take you and you will immediately lose. When the deck is low, it is recommended to not play all your cards until the end game has begun.

  • No, once a monster has been played from the defenders hand to defend against an attacking monster, it cannot be moved to another monster played to attack.
